It is a nice park, with clean restrooms and showers and very pleasant staff. We just stayed one night so can't say a whole lot more about the place. You have to drive in circles to get to it!!!

First of all, this is a nice campground with roomy spots. The trains are not a big deal. Six-flags could be walked to! And it doesn't take half an hour to get downtown...unless you are driving 40! However, I am a bit concerned about the care of the facility. For two days there was no toilet paper in the men's room and we told them both days! I used the same shower for three days and the same "left behind" bar of soap was in there all three days. So I question how "clean" the showers are. This appears to be run by a little old man and lady and perhaps a family, but there does not appear to be quality checks.

The fact that this KOA has been here so long and there are no trees to speak of, or grass for that matter, is sad. A little more water and I think they would have some nice trees! The campground is quiet, VERY quiet...there were four campers here each night we were here. That made it easy to get in and out of the restroom! The restroom was clean and maintained. Hope you like Classical music...that is what plays in the restroom. The pool looked good but we did not use it and I am not sure about the hot tub. We stayed here in July and it was 108 degrees...hot tubs didn't appeal too much to us. This was just our hub to tour this part of Arizona. Only 25 miles to Tombstone and Sonoita, and 35 to Saguaro National Park and Tucson. I think the price is too high for this park in the dead of summer. There are probably better parks around here and in Tucson.

It is a great place to stay for one night, especially if you want to watch the sunset and sunrise in the park!!! It is a hike to the showers, however!

I am getting tired of paying $50 for KOA's that are not all that great. This was OK but very dusty with the gravel everywhere. I have stayed in much nicer KOA's for a lot less, including the one I am at currently.

Other than the small sites for trailers with slide-outs, this is one of the very best KOAs anywhere in the country!!!!

We have been on the road for 6 weeks and have stayed in a dozen or more KOAs. This is the cleanest of them all! Now wish we had time to stay longer, enjoying the cool shade trees and the beautiful lake.

WOW! $54.00 for a night in the heat of summer!! We told them we were handicapped and we got the farthest spot possible from the restrooms. There were lots of spots near it and with shade trees, but we were out in the wide open sun! Those closer and shadier spots were never occupied while we were there! And for the second time this summer we found no toilet paper in the men's bathroom both days we were there. The lady had just cleaned the bathroom and it still had no paper! And there is only one toilet each for men and women and two showers that are family style. Be ready to line up if you stay here!!!! And no cable TV either. There are a few stations on the antennae but for $54 you would think you would get a lot more.

We stayed here two years ago and again this year. We would stay here again and again. This is a great location if you are going to spend several days in the Black Hills as it is pretty much in the center of Sundance, Devil's Tower, Mount Rushmore, and Badlands MP and one of the best locations if you are going to Sturgis!!! Now the spots are really tight if you have slide outs, etc., but that is part of the camping thing! Get to know your neighbors!!! The hot tub was great, the pool was heated. And they have shuttle that runs you into and out of Deadwood every hour. If you like to gamble it is perfect. And don't fret over the fact that the shuttle quits running at 10:00. Pretty much most of Deadwood shuts down at 10:00!!!

This KOA is NOT worth $50 per night. It is very dusty, has small sites, and a long way from the main attractions (Arches and Canyonlands). There is a very nice campground on the north side of Moab, right on the Colorado River and just a few minutes from Arches and Moab.

Thirty-six bucks is not bad, add in $3.25 each for a shower and the cost gets up there! Something should be done for the mosquito infestation at the upper end of the campground. Obviously something is done at the lower end where the showers and laundry are as we never saw any down there. The mosquitoes were so bad we could never go outside to sit, barbecue, nothing. We had to run from the vehicle to the trailer and Citronella candles did nothing, these monster mosquitoes are immune!!!! So, if you are coming here...bring LOTS of Deet!!!

We stayed in a KOA in Albuquerque the night before for $54 and it was not nearly as nice as this State Park facility for only $14!!!! The grounds were clean, lots of grass, shade trees, and we were right on the Rio Grande River. I highly recommend this park to anyone travelling along I-25 and looking for an "escape". No wi-fi and no cable TV but we picked up quite a few stations on the antennae. Little store about 3 miles up the road in Caballo sells everything you'd need to fish. We fished and did not catch anything but had fun watching the bats fly all over the place feeding and getting drinks of water from the lake.

Only one shower and toilet for all campers (one per sex). Nice campgrounds, nice staff, but a bummer if you are not completely self-contained!

A bit dusty, could have more grass! Office closes at 5:00!!! A bit too early! Only four miles from Luckenbach and Fredericksburg! If you stay here check out the animal park behind the campgrounds! Monkeys and other exotics! Even better, in the evening after everything in Fredericksburg is closed, take a ride down to the old railroad tunnel and preservation site and watch the bat flight. Over 3,000,000 bats exit the abandoned RR tunnel every night at dusk and it is an awesome site!!!

Arrived on the 28th to no reservation that I made a month in advance. The lady in the office never got up, just sat and fanned herself, complaining it was too hot (it was very cool inside the office!). We were close to the office but could not access the wifi, had to go to the pool area and get eaten by mosquitoes! We were there two days and there never was toilet paper in the men's restroom. Locks on all the shower doors are broken. The guy next to us did not have his sewer pipe in a donut, so it leaked out and stunk! All the river front spots are taken by people who are permanent residents, so forget thinking of getting a spot with a "view".
